IronRuby

With the introduction of IronRuby to the .NET platform, existing .NET
developers now have a chance to use Ruby, a flexible, expressive
language designed to enhance developer productivity. We'll give you a
whirlwind tour of what the general flavor of Ruby looks like, starting
with simple examples and working our way up to its more powerful
features. We'll also show you some of the great tools like Rake,
RSpec, and Cucumber that you can use in Ruby to beef up your own
existing projects without having to rewrite anything or tie yourself
to IronRuby.

About the speaker

John Feminella is a software developer, technical lead, and agile
booster hailing from New York and Charlottesville. Although he has a
passion for almost all aspects of software, he is especially enamored
of technologies and techniques that make software easier and increase
developer effectiveness.

Along with his three partners, John is also the founder of Distilled
Brilliance, a technology solutions consultancy and laboratory of fun
ideas. His clients there run the gamut from non-profit law firms to
Fortune 500 companies to cupcake factories. He is a contributor to a
number of open-source projects, including Mono, Ubuntu, Blogofile, and
others. He helped found PyCHO, a Charlottesville Python's users group,
as well as AgileCville, a group of local professionals dedicated to
smarter software. He is the author of a number of Firefox plugins and
Greasemonkey scripts.

The presentation will be followed by our normal informal discussion
